This link is for the single slot reload feature, but I have never seen any
type of command to actually execute the single slot reload, this may just be
a feature that the router can use to reload only a single problem card
automatically in the event that it finds it has to reload that card. Anyone
have anything to add to this, I have always been curious? Of course you
could do an online removal and insertion by removing the VIP, waiting one or
two minutes, and then putting it back in. This works for me about 80% of
the time, the other 20% the router will start to do things that require it
to be reloaded, so I only schedule VIP OIR during a maintenance window, or
of course unscheduled in an extreme emergency. I have heard they remedied a
lot of the problems with OIR in later IOS releases, can anyone confirm that?

Subject: Reloading VIP [7:52380]

Is there anyway to manually reload a single VIP card without having to
reboot the router?

Thanks

Chris
