You are wise. ;-) You can't expect a device that is sitting at a monitor port to do much other than monitor. It might work, but there's a good chance it won't. Consider the fact that it is seeing traffic from multiple ports rather than just its own traffic. Issues abound, such as it could be receiving way more traffic than it can handle; the link itself could be receiving way more traffic than it can handle; the device could be receiving packets that confuse it, etc. > > Any ideas for a workaround or should I just tell the client > that it is not > possible??
