I don't know of any reason to reload a router for maintenance purposes, generally if the router is operating correctly it can be left alone. The only reason for a periodic reload that I could think of would be if you have a large amount of subinterfaces which get deleted and created, because the subinterfaces remain in the output of certain commands until a reload. This is really more of an annoyance than a problem.
