MRTG reports in bytes not bits 1250 * 8 = 10000 12500 * 8 = 100000
I've found MRTG to be extremely accurate. We've just started using Solarwinds in addition to MRTG. It looks a lot nicer and is easier to use and isn't really all that expensive.
