Interesting. You can configure multilink on each of the BRI's to bring up the 2nd channel respectively. I'd imagine that they could ALL be set up to load balance (routing protocol dependent) using unnumbered and 8 statics pointing out each BRI, but having a backup that complicated and that expensive doesn't really seem too feasible. But hey, I'm sure there have been crazier things done than that!
