I used it to prep for both exams, supplemented by reading some action-packed, edge-of-your-seat CCO material on SNA. Ciscopress does have separate books for the ccda and ccdp, but I've never laid my hands on either of them. My advice is, if you're going to get a book to supplement top-down, go big and get the CCIE Case Studies book.
