VB Is usually a good one to learn for a network engineer. Given that most of the systems I work on run some form of windows, I found it to be an easy language to learn and very useful for creating quick custom tools that the end user may need (such as logging into all the routers and saving the Config to a tftp server every day). Other then that just learn scripting languages such as VBScript for windows and SH for linux/unix.
