the only difference is the full L3 capability, including BGP with the
12.1.11 release.

the switches used in the CCIE Lab are the 3550-24's with EMI image. ( least
expensive that does the job ) Not that the particular model matters, because
all models behave identically. I've now been to a couple of Cisco
presentations, including one given by the product manager. Cisco is doing a
great job with this product line.

you will be responsible for anything that is possible on those switches.
