In my experience when you get invalid magic number the flash is empty or
filesystem is corrupt. Use the Xmodem console download procedure.

Subject: 4500 Series Router [7:59806]

All,

Anyone know how to recover from a empty flash on a 4500 series router?

I'm getting the following message:

device does not contain a valid magic number
boot: cannot open "bootflash:"
an alternate boot helper program is not specified
(monitor variable "BOOTLDR" is not set)
and unable to determine first file in bootflash
loadprog: error - on file open
boot: cannot load "cisco2-C4500"

I combed the CCO, no luck.

TIA

Jim
