just to follow up, I was on a long call this afternoon with my sales team regarding a customer who wants an AVVID / VoIP proposal. The telco folks on the call were expressing concern that this particualr customer was currently a Centrex customer, with about 1000 lines, and their push was to salvage as many of those lines as possible in any design we drew. I'm not sure I made any friends when I said that with 35 sites, it would be very difficult to salvage more than 1/3, although they could take comfort in the fact that there would be new PRI circuits ordered. So to make this relevant, VoIP is coming, and telco's are caught between a rock and a hard place with regards to their dial tone business. For those looking for job security or career path advice, the ongoing changes in the telco industry are things to be aware of. Skill sets should be built around these changes, to ennsure longevity.
