Hello,
I am just a lonely "student" but I think citizendium can exist on two planes.
This is one problem that I seem to find with wikipedia, I can do research on it
but when it comes time to do more in depth research and get a greater
comprehension of subjects wilipedia seems to be lacking. I like to start with
basic research and comprehension on new subject with wikipedia, but when it
comes to more specialized ideas and areas (like politics) you seem to have a
few elite writers with the same opinions. What is citizendium for if it is not
for research? I love to learn and I find myself skimming wikipedia aimlessly
for hours sometimes, but the best part of the Internet and an encyclopedia
online is the ease of access and the speed of research. I feel that there can
be two types of articles here, serious peer reviewed scholarly articles based
on singular topics (i.e. such as knowledge politics) trying to get a clear and
accurate definition that can be agreed upon by enough editors to have a
majority in that field, and a lot of basic data like wikipedia that even high
schoolers and college student can use to start there research on a certain
subject.
