Larry has already commented that he intends to step down after a period of 2 years (in order to move on to the Textop project), so he won't be a Jimbo-esque God-King.  He has also agreed to abide by any decisions of the Board once one is eventually established.  Insofar as democracy in general goes, I think it will flourish.  Recall however, that the United States was not born out of democracy, it was born out of a room filled with 50-something rich guys.  I think this will be the same way.  The drafting of the fundamental core of Citizendium will be more egalitarian, but I think there is a need for stricter control until we get the whole idea of what Citizendium is formulated, and then I think people will "vote with their feet".

While I think it is important that there is an initial period in which

ultimately very important that that initial period is of limited

duration (I'd consider anything up to about four years acceptable,

though I doubt it will be needed).
