All,

I am seriously thinking about removing the rule against minor edits.

Now, I know that the reason for the rule was quite straightforward and
persuasive: articles should not be subjected to minor edits for the simple
reason that this will prevent the articles from being updated with the
latest Wikipedia articles.

But on second thought, I suspect this isn't going to matter. Frankly, many
of the edits that we make on CZ aren't nearly as dramatic as the edits made
on Wikipedia since the last update. So we will always be wanting to compare
the CZ with the WP version. (Thus the need for that comparison
tool.......programmers??? That's what I want for Christmas.) Therefore, it
doesn't really matter how big the edits we've made will be. We will be
toggling back and forth between WP and CZ all the time. Frankly, it doesn't
even matter that much that we refresh our copy of WP's articles, as long as
there is a quick and easy way to grab the latest from WP--as long as it's
actually an improvement over what we have now, which it might not be!

I'm inclined to do this for another reason, namely that two people now have
told me they don't want to edit because they're inclined to make small
edits. But I want to get those people (and there are, I know, a lot of
them) involved, because every so often such people will also make big edits.
Besides--we need the "gremlin" contributors, the yeomanly contributors, the
ones who fix punctuation and stuff like that. They're needed and we
shouldn't discourage them.
