All, NOTE to people new to this list: by vote of the listmembers, this is an announcement list, as is citizendium-editors. Discussion takes place on http://forum.citizendium.org/
I've been out of commission since just before Christmas, on account of a cross-country move. I'm back in my old haunts of central Ohio, with friends, a great Irish music scene, the OSU library, a nice little creek running through the middle of my back yard, and a cost of living that is a little (okay, a LOT) easier on the budget than the Bay Area. It will take me a few days to catch up, and I'll be much distracted by unpacking, but I'm back. You should be seeing me again on the wiki and forums. I want to thank Nancy Sculerati, Matt Innis, Gareth Leng, Richard Lamont, David Tribe, James F. Perry, Bei Dawei, Mark Rust, and all our personnel administrators (especially Bernard Haisch)--and others, I'm just listing some editors & authors who have edited a lot in the last few days--who have kept the wiki humming along in my absence. But of course I know this shouldn't be surprising. It's a *wiki* and therefore doesn't depend on the presence of an editor-in-chief. But I do like to think my presence has a salutary effect on motivation and you are about to see some things that, I hope, will motivate you even more. We'll be making some fairly big announcements in the next few weeks, concerning an incremental launch, fundraising, a new grant, a new relationship with a major nonprofit, a governance proposal that puts most operational control of the project into the hands of several new workgroups (time to start researching "sortition"), and other stuff I'm not thinking of now. It'll all be fun, I promise. We will be asking for volunteers for those workgroups, so please get ready... --Larry _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
