All, We will begin a process of either election or sortition soon, i.e., within the next few weeks. We will begin selecting chief subject editors for *some* workgroups, as well as leaders for other aspects of the project, such as the topic informant workgroup, and a chief copyeditor.
I would like to see resumes/CVs (if I don't have them already) from people who would like to steward the balloting or sortition process. We have not yet decided, definitively, that we will use sortition as a means of choosing people for term-limited positions of authority. But it seems pretty likely. This person will have to have a firm commitment to the Citizendium project, some extra time, evidence of intelligence and education, preferably (not necessarily) some applicable experience with democratic processes, and unimpeachable personal ethics. For the latter reason it would help if you were to provide me with several references. As to *what* the process will be, I will be making a more definite and detailed proposal within the next few days--more definite than, but similar to, what you see now in the Policy Outline. This proposal will, of course, be open for public debate. It is possible that I'll have to go back to the drawing board if the objections to this proposal are very serious. Also, this person should either already be, or (preferably) will become, a member of the Executive Committee. --Larry _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
