Hmmm, curious, normally xdvi shows Type1 fonts automatically in
DVI's. I'm not aware of a function where you can actually switch off
Type1 font display (only for PS graphics).
Are you sure that you actually installed Type1 fonts correctly and
also recompiled your TeX file? If you recompiled it, but xdvi can't
find the Type1 fonts, then it will create a "missfonts.log" file.
Yes, I have Type1 fonts installed, and I can use dvips to output ps file.
Later yestoday, I searched the web again and find a link at xdvik's
homepage.
http://xdvi.sourceforge.net/README.t1fonts
Follow the instructions in that file, I added the map files of dvips into
xdvi.cfg
which resides in $TEXMF-LOCAL/xdvi/ and then xdvi use Type1 fonts. No
more .pk fiels. That's great!
BTW, I just can't find anywhere to search the mailing list archieve. Is
that
true?
Indeed. Try to use Google in combination with the "site:" tag.
Thanks for the hint.
Best Regards
