Well I am not long term - but almost 15 years. I would say the average age
here in the US is between 9 and 10 years old. This would average in all the
pets as well as breeding/show dogs. Here in the US we live in an age of
overfeeding - just sit in a vets office for a few hours and watch all the
portly pets (all breeds) walk thru the doors. And when you take a breed that
is predisposed to heart problems - you are just asking for a bad outcome.
Coupled with the fact that many of the popular studs used here in the states
have not come from lines with longevity and I think that hurt us for many
years.

I have heard one breeder say 6-8 another 10-12. In your experience, give me
two numbers that you feel are realistic. >>
