Hi Marilyn - I am certainly not a long time breeder, but I speak to many breeders every day, and have been conducting an "unofficial" poll of the same nature. I ask them how old their dogs are and what they think the average is. I have to agree with Cathy that the "average" as best as I am able to determine it (unscientifically) is 10-12.
