>From the people who have written books on the subject, the general opinion seems to be that the first problem is that the puppy gains too much weight. People who are respected enough to have been published, versus people who like to yak away on the email lists discussing their expertise, are of the opinion that gaining too much weight is often caused by having an unlimited amount of time on the nipple, which is related to being in a small litter. The "experts" here would appear to believe that having a swimmer puppy is a sign of poor breeding practices. Take your pick Laura. Myra Savant
