Boy this stuff sounds scary. I feel so badly about that 3 yr. old dog. I give Filaribits to all my dogs. They get their daily morning dose which they look forward to. It's like giving them a bonus biscuit. They love it and they've never had any problems with it. Some years ago I tried the monthly Heartgard on one of my goldens and he had a bad reaction, severe diarrhea and lethargy. Since then I never tried anything else but the Filaribits. My cav gets 1/4 tab per day and I give the goldens 1 whole tab and they are 180mg table scored to easily break up.
