Fran, I know that with Heartguard and Interceptor you are not supposed to split the tablets. The medicine is not distributed the same throughout. I do split other pills, but my vet had told me not to do it with heartworm medication. Have you checked with your vet about giving your Cavalier 1/4 tablet instead of buying a smaller size?
