Actually for me it would be easy as there is an Emergency Clinic 15 minutes from my house - and I would be there in a flash as to be honest I don't think I could tell (in my heart or by viewing) that the puppy wasn't "saveable". I know everyone doesn't have the availability of an ER room but I do think most people who breed do have the phone number of an emergency contact with their vet or a place to go in case of trouble.
