And what good is it if a dog lives to 15 with painfully crippling dysplastic
hips? I grew up with a dog that was dysplastic. As an adult I had another
dog that was also dysplastic. They hurt, they suffered. It was not pretty
and not something that I would want to live through again. Pain and
suffering is pain and suffering, be it a had heart or bad hips.

Each of us, as breeders, has the right to test for what we feel is important.
For me, I'd just as soon have a dog with a good heart, good eyes, stable
patellas, AND hips
that aren't dysplastic.

JMHO, yours can be different.
