My dog room has a patchwork leather sofa and loveseat. Well, actually, my sofa...home to a bossy greyhound, is unblemished, but the poor loveseat is loved by all the cavalier puppies.and all of the edges have little strips of vinyl tape to hide holes.
The leather is quite sturdy except when it comes to teeth. Claw marks don't seem to show (no cats in the dog room). Dirt washes off and hair dusts off easily. Teeth could do a job on any fabric short of iron or steel anyway so I stick with leather!
