We finally had allergy tests (blood serum tests) done on Paisley this summer
when her allergies became unbearable for her. Predisone was not an option
that my husband would consider since he's seen the damage it did to my
daughter's Golden Retriever, Maggie.
I was stunned to see that the tests indicated a very severe allergy to
dust mites and orchard grass, but less to blue grass. Unfortunately, we live
near a farm so orchard grasses are everywhere -- including our lawn -- and
dust mites must be everywhere too. We've started Paisley on allergy
shots...last week we began to see real improvement. Her chin is no longer
swollen and raw and she's not chewing her feet so much. I'm beginning to be
a believer in the allergy testing/shots.
