The vet clinic I attend is run by Dr. Hutchison, one of the top authorities on reproduction in the country. He doesn't believe mycoplasma causes anything as mycoplasma is always present in every dog.
What he feels is that if mycoplasma multiplies to the extent that it is causing problems, there is an underlying reason for it--usually related to the immune system.
