Actually I did mean to work on realtime synthesizer as a project under GSoC 2008. I write to let you know that I just submitted my proposal online. Your feedback will be appreciated! I tried the solutions from both Greg and Pau but it still does not work. Anyway, I decide to install my old Redhat Linux and compile things there...
