As an IT guy myself, I'd like to respectfully suggest that you let your IT team know that you've noticed a change in behavior and think you have pinned down the cause. It may very well be that someone who thought they knew what they were doing broke something, and they'll put things back the way they were. (It may also be that they really did know what they were doing, and that you shouldn't route around them.) (Of course, maybe you were already planning on doing this...)
