I can't say as I'd blame you. Paid work in this "free" software arena is king. My caterwauling about it is NOT a show stopper here because database backwards compatibility has in fact been well maintained. It appears I worded it poorly. As its been 40+years since I worked by the hour, that phrase about building a fire has become a part of the business language. My apology's.
