It looks like it's *already* possible to download the GPL source code for Sun's HotSpot VM[1]. But of course that's of limited use until they also release their class libraries.
But funnily enough there just happens to be a Free set of class libraries lying around ;) I know that I can't possibly be the only person thinking it. But I do know I'm not even close to having the expertise or the time to research what it would actually take to implement the Classpath VM interface on top of HotSpot. I'm just curious as to whether anyone who *does* have the expertise and time is planning to take a serious look at this... Stuart.
