I tried putting the game behind a non NATand non CA network as well and it
still did not work completely. Although the error students were seeing (
"Error 33 Unable to connect to Activision Matchmaking") did not show up
this time. Reading other user forums it appears that this game uses some
kind of P2P connection which I know is blocked on our Firewalls and
Packetshaper.

It would be great if someone can post some details about the P2P if they
know. Interestingly, students claim that it works for their friends in
other schools, I wonder how?

Re: PS3: COD4

I don't think its a NAT'ing issue as we are seeing the same problems on
our campus as well. I have testing it out where if we put the PS3 on a
network that does not require CCA it plays just fine however if we put in
on a network that is behind CCA they are not able to connect.

PS3: COD4

We have several students who are could not use (PS3) Call of Duty-4 from
behind the NAT. Although we have allowed required ports on Clean Access
filters. It appears that beside just the ports, this game requires P2P
connection.

Does anyone has any thoughts on other solutions or have similar
experience. How do student in your school play games that do not work
behind strict NAT or NAT type 3?
