Bertrand Delacretaz commented on CLEREZZA-419:
----------------------------------------------
As I said in STANBOL-72, IMO it's more important that the serialized value
includes timezone information, so whatever timezone is used is visible in the
output.
Using UTC might make sense, but IMO it's not the critical part - clients should
be able to parse standard date formats that include a timezone.
> Clerezza should return date values normalized to UTC

> When Clerezza serializes a date value it uses the local timezone of the
> server. This should be changed to be always UTC.
> Reason is that in clustered environments you don't want different output
> depending on the local time zone of the server where Clerezza is running. The
> same issue came up in Stanbol (STANBOL-76) and since Stanbol relies on
> Clerezza this may be something that should be addressed by Clerezza, too.
