 They build them for multilib.  So, you might manage with some
symlinks from /lib64 to /lib or from /usr/lib64 to /usr/lib.

 The LP64/ILP64 distinction is a red herring.  Whenever you get
problems, start by looking at the evidence.  'No such file or
directory' is a strong indicator, although I agree that trying to
work out *what* it can't find is difficult when the problem is with
the ldd script.
