I just had a quick read of the whitepaper you reference. It seems to indicate
the LP64 is the preferred implementation over ILP64 for maximum compatibility
and portability. ILP64 seems to introduce more difficulties than it solves.
So, given that LP64 is the chosen path by most standards, it wouldn't make
much sense to try to force an IPL64 build and the numerous portability issues
it will cause.
This is based on my quick read, though.
