Dear Climate-L Readers:

The Office of Transportation and Air Quality of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency is seeking candidates to conduct analysis of
environmental strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and criteria
air pollutants from the transportation sector.  The team is looking for
an economist or policy analyst with experience conducting analyses of
cost effectiveness of public programs, knowledge of emissions trading,
and familiarity with quantitative analytical techniques including
cost-benefit analysis. The well qualified individual will also be able
to communicate with non-economists about basic economic concepts
including supply and demand, marginal and average costs, externalities
such as traffic congestion, induced travel, and air pollution.
Responsibilities will include planning, conducting, and managing complex
economic analyses on a variety of transportation and environment
