The other day I put together a little proof-of-concept showing how a (simple) webapp could be written in a single file AND could render itself on the server (using the JVM's Nashorn scripting environment) and on the client.
For those interesting, the example is very short (87 lines!), but not totally trivial (IMHO), and can be found here: https://gist.github.com/pandeiro/c5d2728bd04aab4f31c3 Furthermore, it uses a utility library for this specific purpose (you'll probably notice the defhtml, defcss and defcljs macros in the code snippet above). That can be found here: https://github.com/pandeiro/agua I'm sharing it because I would love to know what everyone thinks. For example: Is this useful at all? Is the "isomorphic" app a concept worth pursuing? Is there something missing? Is writing a webapp as a single file totally ridiculous? And so on... Happy coding!
