So you mean you use experimental Clonezilla live 
(http://clonezilla.org/download/sourceforge/experimental/iso-zip-files.php) 
to restore the image, and the image was restored successfully, but 
something about grub went wrong when you booted the restored Ubuntu ? 
The grub boot loader tried to boot from floppy ?
This is weird... Clonezilla only runs grub-install without changing the 
grub's config file.
What's the content of your /boot/grub/menu.list ?
