I'd certainly give it a try. It might be a more up-to date one than the one that came stock with 8.2 (v 6.1 or 6.2 if memory serves).

Speaking of opera, has aanyone actually installed it on suse 8.2? I installed 
the ftp version of suse and opera complains about missing libxm which does not 
seem to be available for 8.2. You can force the install, but apt doesn't like 
it when there's problems in the rpm daatabase.
