I installed powerquest partition magic 7 on my computer in order to make partition and install linux. It did not work properly (I subsequently used 8) on xp. Now it will not uninstall. It says cannot load dll. I want to uninstall it.
I have found that going in via REGEDIT, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, I can come to a cluster called Powerquest which contains subfiles Partition magic Pro and Power Quest Partitionmagic Pro. These also contain some subfiles.
Questions:
1.Can I delete the Power Quest heading file itself without suffering any problems in my xp operating system?
2. Can I delete the main file or do I have to delete the subfiles as well individually and if so in what order should I delete?
3. If I delete these files and my system is debilitated, can I restore that with System Restore?
Suggestions?

"Ghost" your hd to another hd then do whatever you want to the original. If it works your laughing. If it doesn't you can copy the "ghosted" hd back to your original and go to plan B.
