<broad questions>
Is there a someone who can tell me, or a website that i can read, about partition tables and boot loaders? Basically, all i see of these aspects are fdisk(s), lilo and ntldr. All I really know about these systems are that I need them, and i should back up my data before playing with them.
What exactly differentiates one distribution from another? I see very similar packages, often just configured differently, or a different version, available to be installed with each distro. I know there are different distro specific programs and software, what are these? If I were to evaluate a distro, how would I do it?

Dual head systems sound pretty darn cool.
