Thanks for your message Jason. I also heard about the fire. I don't run a server but when I set up the second computer to run a linux system, I sorted out my octopus of wires and checked that I had two different circuits sharing the connections between two power bar plus assorted lights, audio and video. Wiring in older houses is always a concern.
I have always been told that computer hardware does not make a big demand, but by the time you plug in two computers, a monitor, printer, server connection, router, lights, TV, dvd, audio equipment etc. it starts to look like a wiring mess. Maybe there is no concern but then again... Any thoughts/experiences/guidelines appreciated Bonnie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jason Louie" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CLUG General" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2004 4:59 PM Subject: [clug-talk] OT: Computer safety > http://www.canada.com/calgary/globaltv/story.html?id=b5e8686f-90e6-406e-83b7-b6efbbd340cb > > In today's news there was a fire in Marda Loop that was started by a > computer wire over heating.
