Observe daily for s/s edema, increased circulatory impairment, infection, drainage, condition of dressing with reinforcing prn, pain management etc.  Between MD visits, order changes and those nursing functions I always seem to get a covered category.  We have been fairly successful with UNNA boots healing stasis ulcers so I am not sure what my opinion would be if it went on for an indefinite period of time thereby becoming “chronic but stable”.

Unna Boots

Tammy, I guess I was wondering if this is what is skilling the resident or does he/she have another daily skilled service? Since the Unna boot doesn't get removed every day, can you skill just for that?
