I'm
sorry to hear about this disappointing news. I just want to mention that you may
want to explore getting your son tested for mutations resistant to Gleevec; you
didn't mention doing this so just wanted to point it out as a rational move
right now and maybe should be an additional first step along with a dosage
increase. You don't want to wait around doing 800 mg only to find out he's
developed resistance to Gleevec and time has been wasted.

We are still assessing options but it looks likely that the first step
will be increased dosage of IM (he is on 400 now). The one wrinkle
appears to be the possible removal from the study protocol, as it seems
there is no allowance for dose variation in the study and an exclusion
for 'progressive' disease if it reaches or exceeds 30% ph+. Will have
to wait to see how they interpret that and what impact that may have.
