Hi Diane,   I have suffered from numbness in my arms and feet.  I originally thought it was due to an old neck injury.   In researching side effects,  I ran across a online pamphlet, supplied by Novartis,  last week that stated that numbness is a possible side effect of Gleevec.    You can find the pamphlet at the following site:   http://www.pharma.ca.novartis.com/downloads/e/gleevec_patient_e.pdf   You need to have Adobe acrobat to read the pamphlet.   If you don’t have Adobe acrobat, please let me know and I will convert the pamphlet to text and send the text to you.   The pamphlet states that that you are suppose to inform your doctor if you experience any of the described side effects.   Take care and let me know if you need more information.   Peter Dx: 9/04 Gleevec:  10/04 – 400mg     From: Diane [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2005 5:20 PM To: cml@yahoogroups.com Subject: [CML] Numbness and pins and needles....   I've been having numbness in my arms and hands, on and off, since last week.  Last week when it first happened, I actually wondered if I was having a heart attack.  It lasted for a little while and then passed.  I had an intense pain running down the bottoms of my arms towards my hands, too.  On top of that, the "pins and needles" sensation has been plaguing my hands and feet randomly, sometimes even while I sleep!  It wakes me up.  I find upon waking that I am simply laying flat, no crazy contortions going on!  On Friday, I had the numbness feeling in my arms/hands and then my right hand cramped up to the point that I couldn't release my fingers.  It looked and felt like I was making a "scooping" motion.  After a while, it passed.  Today I had the numbness again. These problems have to be associated with gleevec as I have never experienced anything like this before.  When I mentioned it to the doctor today, he said that he doesn't think it's associated w/Gleevec as it only happens sporatically.  He also said "it's not one of the side effects."  I felt as though he was "blowing me off" and I'm irritated about it.  He said he feels it is "anxiety".  I said, "while I sleep????"  Please let me know if anyone else experiences this.  I am on 400mg. now.  His goal is to get me to 600mg where he wants me to stay, for life...(his words).  I'm afraid that if I have these crazy things going on w/400mg., what's gonna' happen when I'm on 600??? I need help to know that I am not going crazy and that my physical problems are not caused by anxiety, but by Gleevec.  Help! New!
