Hi Merv,

Glad to hear that Gleevec is doing good with your blood counts. 
Taking Gleevec with your biggest meal of the day (whether that is 
lunch or dinner) might help. Some people find that certain kinds of 
foods are better to prevent the nausea. 

It shouldn't keep you up at night......although for some there has 
been some insomnia, but irrespective of when they take it......but you 
don't want to take it right before bed. You should not lie down for an 
hour or two, because it can cause acid reflux. 

If the nausea persists, you can be given something for that.......or
some people also split their dose between 2 meals. If you are taking 
400mg and just have the single pill, you would need to get the 100mg 
pills and take 2 at 2 meals. This takes a little juggling to get it 
right. Also, some of the early side effects like this that people have 
just go away with time. Good luck.
