Yes, eyebleeds caused by Gleevec, listed as one of the side effects.
Not serious but very scary.

Hi Susie Q,

Interesting we go by the same here...:) :)

Yes to the eye bleeds.....had it happen twice in the same eye with a
matter of three weeks. The second time was horrible and went to the
eye doctor but he said it was nothing serious and would clear up on
it's own. I happen to see the oncologist/hematologist at the same
time and she told me that if it happend again that soon, to call and
they would set me up with one of their ophthalmologist that a blood
vessel might need to be cartorized. (not sure about the spelling).
But I've had no more problems like that in the five & half years I've
been on Gleevec, but it is a side effect according to the paperwork
from Novartis. My eye doctor put it in my file....:) My eye doctor
says normally people have eye bleeds because of stress, heavy lifting,
or high blood pressure........of which none of those pertained to me
at that time, so I showed him the list of side effects and he included
them in my records.

Keep looking up,

Suzieq
