Are you speaking of interferon treatments? These were used before gleevec
and all the other new drugs. I was diagnosed in early 2005 and have been on all
the tki's except ponatinib. It would seem the doc would change you to another
drug instead of interferon. Are you going to a cml specialist? Highly recommend
either a university medical dept. Like northwestern in chicago (dr jessica
altman), or moffitt in tampa (dr. Pinilla), md anderson in texas, johns hopkins
in new york, dr. Talpaz at univ. Of michigan, or portland oregon's dr. Druker
who invented gleevec. I didnt mention mayo but that is great also. Some
small-town docs do not know their stuff. Please do not go back on sprycel. Your
symptoms w heart will only worsen. Yes interferon does not give a good quality
of life due to flu-like symptoms. I drive 2 1/2 hrs to see my doc. Worth it!!!!

I was placed on Sprycel in 2008. While this treatment contained my WBC, it
caused fluid retention around my heart and lungs. My onc was to try a ferone
treatment. Has anyone had any experience with this form of treatment. It is an
injection and he said common side effects were flu-like symptoms. --
