Been there & done that, as a matter of fact did it again just today. I
have been going to do an inventory list since we bought Honey in 1975 and here
it 2013 and the damn list still hasn't been prepared...

The waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Subject: Re: Stus-List Stowing stuff on your boat

All these applications strike me as solutions looking for a problem.

If you spend much time on your boat, chances are you'll know where
everything is. And as long as you don't move it around all the time,
you only have to remember it once.

If you have crew (who can't see into your memory) or if your memory is
suspect, draw a map of the boat and label the various lockers and
lazarettes. Hell, maybe even put actual labels on the lockers.

I carry enough spares, tools, and assorted crap on Bojangles to sink a
small
C&C, but I can tell you exactly what's on board and where it is.
Part of that comes from grouping things logically (eg: all plumbing stuff
together; all electrical together, etc.) and the other part comes from
spending time on the boat.

Now if I can just find that darn corkscrew...

Cheers
Colin
