Ouch!
I remember that shoal from years back when I was crewing the Prince of Wales race -- in light winds every boat was trying to cut the corner headed out of the harbor. Looking over the side into the clear water (I was working the mast) I was saw boulders sliding past the boat. When I raised the alarm the captain slammed the boat over to head for deeper water, just then another large boat (maybe 40') crashed, lifted up out of the water, did a pirouette atop a rock and slid back down the far side facing the opposite direction.
It was crazy seeing a boat that big pop up out of the water!
I never knew the name of the shoal, but after searching Thrumcap it clearly was.

Hope the damage is not too severe!

Dunno. Yet. Hauling the boat Tuesday. I was way north if the red marker. Just

Yes, ignoring that big red buoy can have its consequences.
I've seen one boat cut through there but it was a Bayfield 29, very shallow
draft.
I hope the damage isn't too expensive to fix.

Good day to be rich. I just bounced my boat off a shoal near here and
trashed the rudder. But I'm merely Rich:(....
