When I got Mistress 4 years ago it was my first sail boat, and when I stood the
mast and rigged the boat for the first time, it was a lot of firsts all at once
for me.

Having taken lessons before I bought a boat I was expecting 2 separate jib
sheets, to be tied with bowlines, but found only one sheet while rigging up.
Not knowing any better I attached it exactly like this method.

It is a bit tough to get loose at the end of the season, but I have never had
it catch anything and will continue to use it as I don’t race and rarely if
ever change the sail.

If you don't race and/or change headsails, I'm a big fan of the single line
method.

Never gets hung up on anything.

Switched to this style three years ago and haven't regretted it once.

All the best,

Edd
